The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie two Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services to the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering services for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed with regard to the large number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your substantial variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office devoted to service the area on a regular basis. The support point made for intervention encounters a high inflow of possible beneficiaries, that makes it hard for the Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this read more reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra sources to help the servicing of all buyers and improve use of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
